Some Important Facts about the Holy Catholic Faith
The church of the Roman Catholic is the largest of all Christian churches worldwide, and even though its presence is known globally with different parishes and churches all around the world, it is recognized as Roman because of its historical connection to Rome. It is also greatly attached to the worldwide ministry of the bishop of Rome which is the Pope himself. Over two decades ago, Roman Catholics are estimated to have been at least 783 million worldwide which is approximately 18% of the world's overall population at that time. In United States statistics of 1982, almost 51 million of its citizens were followers of the holy catholic faith which comprises about 22 percent of the country's general population. This particular data has been based on records of baptisms conferred on infants that year.
The fundamental beliefs of the holy catholic faith are similarly shared by other Christian sects who are derived from the New Testament and based on the antediluvian Creeds set by the early ecumenical councils. The basic belief is that, the holy catholic faith is governed by God who made Himself known to mankind through His Son Jesus. His presence is acknowledged by the church which is traced to the early life and principles of Jesus whose death is followed by Him rising from the dead and afterwards, the appearance of the Holy Spirit which was sent by God to help the believers.
