Roman Catholic Saints
Roman Catholics have always wanted to have someone or something nearer to their hearts to give them inspiration and encouragement about leading a devout catholic life, someone that can give them intercession to God and carry their appeals to Him.
People can easily connect to Roman Catholic Saints because they are "once-humans", who just like an ordinary catholic, committed some mistakes and blunders during their existence. They can act as intermediary to God, and because they are holy, Catholics tend to believe that their prayers will be more likely heard by God if they course it to particular saint they have fondness with. Among the many popular Roman Catholic saints is St. John, the Disciple whom Jesus loved so much and the only apostle who was present during His crucifixion. St. John's loyalty is eternal and he survived the poison meant for him to drink and being boiled alive in oil. Another Roman Catholic saint who gained popularity because of faith is St. Luke who is the known writer of the Gospel and Acts of the Apostles. St. Anthony of Padua is also a well known saint and there are a lot of parishes worldwide who named their church after him because of the simple yet resounding teachings of St. Anthony about the Catholic faith.
